
Bio:
Thomas O'Donnell is a freelance experimental composer based in Leeds, England. His principal research interests and key compositional influences surround the expansive potential of graphic notation and other experimental notations in music, and their subsequent applications. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Popular Music & Recording at the University of Salford in 2018. He received his Master's Degree in Critical and Experimental Composition from the University of Leeds in 2021. His postgraduate research focused on how the development of graphic notation has been utilised as a part of the compositional process of experimental works as well as the use of a work of literature as part of experimental compositional practice. He began his Ph.D. research in October 2024, focusing on the potential of graphic notation as a pedagogical intervention for new musicians. As a composer, his work has been performed and broadcasted in the United Kingdom, United States, and Europe. His new work
